Who is

Efeosa Afolabi

Acting is presence. It’s about stepping into someone else’s truth while still carrying your own lived experience. That’s the root of acting - the ability to see through someone else’s eyes and carry their weight for a moment.

I’m a London-based actor, director, and filmmaker. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, but it wasn’t until I studied Drama and earned a Film Diploma that I realised just how much I wanted to build worlds - both in front of and behind the camera.

What made me want to be an actor was the need to understand people. Growing up, I always had an eye for how people moved, how they spoke when they thought no one was watching. Acting became a way to embody those observations - to reflect something raw and honest back to an audience. For me, acting isn’t just performance, it’s exposure - it’s letting your guard down so that others feel seen.

Collaboration is the backbone of acting. You can’t act alone. Whether it’s working with directors who challenge your instincts, DPs who catch angles you didn’t know existed, or fellow actors. No film survives ego. The best moments always come from letting someone else’s perspective shape the scene.

Right now, I’m building out my film production company Run N Gun Productions, which specialises in bold, genre-fluid films with emotional weight and visual grit. My film Loop de Loop - a psychological horror rooted in paranoia, identity, and memory distortion and my film Chilled Plastic Bag - a thriller about an underground blood trafficking ring with a twist are both currently in post - production and headed to festivals over the next few years.
